The Yew Tree
Our cricket club would only be half a club without the best village pub in the world opposite the ground. The award winning Yew Tree is now an integral part of our village and club.
After a brief flirtation as a gastro pub (overpriced posh restaurant) at the start of this century it took the luniac Tim Gray (current Landlord Of The Year) a mere 5 minutes and very little hard work to turn the pub around. It is now the perfect place for Tony to tell the world how thrilling his latest 18 not out from 47 overs was, Yorkey to explain just how young the opposition were from his latest 7 wicket haul and for Toby to explain the world famous Bat Throwing incident ......again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once a year after an extensive selection process Tim puts together the mighty Yew Tree cricket team. The game against Wield is a great village event, the standard is stunning and the boost to everyone's averages is always welcome.
With great beer, great food, great people and a fantastic atmosphere the Yew Tree is a wonderful pub and a great place to be.
