The Club
Wield Cricket Club has been an integral part of our village life since its restart in 1981. In recent times under the stewardship of Chairmen Philip Geddes and Peter Rayment the club has gone from strength to strength.
We only play on Sundays (apart from the odd Friday 20/20 game) and we encourage wives and family members to come and watch, hopefully offering a more relaxed and social game than league cricket provides.
We have junior coaching every Tuesday in the summer. Over the last few years we have averaged around 70 children every session aged 6-11. All of the children are from Wield or the surrounding villages and we also run an under 9's team.
